Unlicensed Love

On a summer’s day long, long ago
I fell in love and I’ll never know
Just what it was that made me feel
So drawn to her, what the appeal
That set my pulses so to race
When e’er I gazed upon that face
Of one who was scarce but a child
Yet even then could drive me wild
I’ll never know the how’s and why’s
I lost my heart to Hazel Eyes
But when I got that long sought kiss
I knew I’d found my Perfect Miss
My elfin girl from down the lane
And I’ll never let her go again

For how could I describe our love?
Romantic love, all hearts and flowers
No way to count the days and hours
Spent in self-indulgent wishes
And thoughts of long awaited kisses
Of sweet embraces, tender sighs
And gazing into love filled eyes
Oh yes, it is that kind of love

Or, is it yet the love of passion
The ecstasy that knows no ration
That shuddering nerve-tingling feeling
The climax with your senses reeling
The wondrous joy when you discover
That sweet surrender to your lover
Oh yes, it’s that kind of love too.

Or even yet a love that grows
One that cares and one that knows
That sees beyond the outer skin
Into the person deep within
That loves the spirit and the soul
The inner self that makes the whole
Built on trust and empathy
A love you know was meant to be

The love we share is all these things
A love that has no need of rings
A love you never need to doubt
A love I cannot live without
A love to last us all our days
A love I’ll share with you always

some quotes

December 6, 2010

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage

to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Life is a book with many chapters. Some tell of tragedy, others of triumph. Some chapters are dull and ordinary, others intense and exciting. The key to being a succcess in life is to never stop on a difficult page, to never quit on a tough chapter. Champions have the courage to keep turning the pages because they know a better chapter lies ahead and with God, nothing is impossible.

“Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here.”
-Marianne Williamson

Just because you know someone doesn’t mean you love them, and just because you don’t know people doesn’t mean you can’t love them. You can fall in love with a complete stranger in a heartbeat, if God planned that route for you. So open your heart to strangers more often. You never know when God will throw that pass at you.
Writer Heather Grove

Love, true love, is that which can give the most without asking or demanding anything in return.

No one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

You’ll never be able to count your true friends on more than one hand. If you can, one of them isn’t your friend.
Suzie Sinclair

If more people realized the true value in a friend, then more people would hold on tighter to the friendships they have and treasure them.

A friend is a gift you give yourself.
Robert Louis Stevenson

If you are going to have a full life, then you must decide to become a friend worth having while loving unconditionally and this is a hard task for many but not an impossible one.

10 Lessons I’m Forever Relearning

September 7, 2010

The idea of this post is in response to another blog post I have just read:
http://zebrasounds.net/2010/09/06/10-lessons-im-forever-relearning/

I like when she, the author, said “relearning”, because human forget easily and “repetition (relearning in our case) is the mother of all skills”,  as the famous saying tells. Here are the 10 lessons that I will never learn enough:

1- Start from the end or “Start with end in mind”, as said by Stephan Covey.

2- God exists and have created you and the whole world surrounding. So, when looking and giving your own meanings in life, everyday, don’t forget the meaning given by your creator … [a little bit difficult to grasp if you’re not spiritual].

3- “Fish discover water.” Don’t disbelieve in what you don’t need evidence for.

4- Life is short, unique and invaluable. Why you waste time and get bored?

5- The best you have ever learned are what you learned by yourself, systematically without effort.

6- “Happiness only real when shared” (Christopher McCandless) {family, friends,…]

7- “Doesn’t matter where you come from, what only matters is where you are going to” … [the fear of the unknown, or you’re worth what you’re standing for.]

8- About time: “Past is dreams, future is hope to be still alive and wishes, and present time is lost between.” (Ibn-quaym) “I don’t think of the future, it comes soon enough” (Albert Einstein).

9- You’re living your own life, you’re not an unconscious imitating movie character.

10- Ignorance is exactly forgetting what you pretend to know at the moment of action.

Sorry for the quotes, sometimes they are better than original statements.

Love at first sight

August 28, 2010

Have you ever fallen in love with a fictional woman?   I do. I have read in “Tawk el-hamam” (“Collier de la Colombe”) Ibn-hazm saying that it was possible to even fall in love in dreams and still be after wake up. Take a look to the following young girl (on right).

This is a picture of a young peasant girl in mountain with a stick in her hand and the herd (cows or bulls) behind grazing. Actually, this is a painting of William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) titled The Shepherdess (1889). It means a pastoral girl who is seduced by a knight and refuses or accepts. The girl on picture was posing for the painter (not fictional).

What attract me on this wonderful young girl is her kind (mind) appearance, modest clothes and her noble work: herd keeper (a prophets’ occupation). Maybe this girl is helping her family or enjoying a passion. I guess she is healthier to live in countryside and has sane feelings, sensitivity and nature-inspired imagination and sense of beauty. Educated? maybe at home. I don’t know if there was homeschooling in France in nineteen century?
Nevertheless, our girl may learned women tradition at home and outside. Back over to simple life: land work, more contact with nature. This means something to me. At least, I could try it as hobby while keeping minimum modern life style. Or would you say staying confined in a crowded city and 8-hours office work is better?

Culture

August 27, 2010

One day, I was discussing with a friend at university about the difficulty to define some physics basic notions (my friend was actually a Physics Professor). Then, he gives me an instance of word (”Culture”) which is well known by almost everybody, yet difficult to associate with an exhaustive definition. One definition he found interesting was: ” Culture is what remains when we forget the rest”. Ah!, that was interesting for me as well, because, ironically, this is also exactly my favorite definition of another word. That of “Education”, another subject I am interested to as well.
It happened to me one day, by the way, when reading one of John Taylors Gatto’s books about schooling and education, to find a reference to an interesting book that speaks about both culture and education. The following are excerpts from that book, ” The aims of education”, by Alfred North Whitehead, and from his others essays. I wanted to collect these words to serve as objects of reflexion on the subject.

“Culture is activity of thought, and receptiveness to beauty and humane feeling. Scraps of information have nothing to do with it. A merely well-informed man is the most useless bore on God’s earth. What we should aim at producing is men who possess both culture and expert knowledge in some special direction

Dare to Believe

August 23, 2010

These are words that I pick up somewhere in the Web. I find some worth to believe in. While most seem obvious, we often forget this principals when facing a matter.
These words are:
Everybody Knows:
You can’t be all things to all people.
You can’t do all things at once.
You can’t do all things equally well.
You can’t do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else’s.

So:
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*.

Then:
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you’ll be a most vital mortal.

Dare To Believe:
That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it’s more than a right, it’s your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you’ll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

Starving for love

July 19, 2010

I read a sad quote of Christopher McCandless:
” Some people feel like they don’t deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past.”

This is a terrible experience Chris passed through and no one, not family nor friends, noticed his pain to be near and give some true love. To different extents, everyone should have gone through a similar painful experience. If that is you’re case and you’re feeling lonely, I invite to take a look on the following video.

http://www.youtube.

I Hope it has brought you some happiness and want to tell you my feelings are the same for you. Blessing to all kind lonely souls!

How magical is love. The fuel of minds; could anyone succeed in pursuits he don’t love? could any relationship last without love? Yes, love is the paramount motivator, the ultimate power to heal selves and bring peace everywhere. You may recall that quote: ” When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace” (from the Zeigeist Movie).
Again, here is a nice moving song about love, I have recently discovered:

I Hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to give and receive love everyday.
Jefferson Airplane: “somebody to love” Lyrics

When the truth is found to be lies
and all the joy within you dies
don’t you want somebody to love
don’t you need somebody to love
wouldn’t you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love

When the garden flowers baby are dead yes
and your mind [, your mind] is [so] full of BREAD
don’t you want somebody to love
don’t you need somebody to love
wouldn’t you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love

your eyes, I say your eyes may look like his [yeah]
but in your head baby I’m afraid you don’t know where it is
don’t you want somebody to love
don’t you need somebody to love
wouldn’t you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love

tears are running [ahhh, they’re all] running down your breast
and your friends baby they treat you like a guest.
don’t you want somebody to love
don’t you need somebody to love
wouldn’t you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love

My life journey by quotes

January 31, 2010

Life is a journey unlike school; you first do the test,  then you learn the lesson. In spite of the saying: “Life is short to try everything. Learn from experts”, the best things I learned from the following quotes are not after reading and complying but after doing mistakes and sometimes after doing the opposite.
Here some wisdom quotes that describe my journey through life:

” There is no expedient the average man will not go for to avoid the hard labor of thinking”
— Thomas elva Edison

” If you’re hot your hot. If you’re not you’re not”

”In the absence of clearly defined goals we become strangely committed to daily trivia until, ultimately, we become enslaved by it”.
— ?? (i forget it)

” arrivant au but, on manque tout le reste”
–proverbe japonais.

” Experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want”

”Nothing is, but thinking make it so”
— Shakespears

” Insanity is repeating the same mistake over and over again and expecting a different result”
— Albert Einstein
